Fun Facts

Mr. Palmer Sr. designed, engineered and built the original production line that makes the hollow bunnies in 1948. It is still used today. Please visit us on Facebook to see a video on how they are made.

The first hollow bunny produced was a 2 oz. Bunny named “Baby Binks.” Over the years, there were other “Binks” family bunnies designed such as “Daddy Binks”, “Bunny Binks”, and today we have “Big Binks”. And…we still make and sell a lot of the original “Baby Binks.”

We make bunnies of all sizes and shapes…approximately 1 Billion bunnies are made annually. Back when this company was started, Mr. Palmer decided that the traditional sitting, profile rabbits needed some personality. He started designing bunnies that had some character. They were given mold details, icing eyes and ribbon bows that made them different. The molds were also designed so that the bunnies looked like they were having fun! While we still make the traditional profile rabbits, we also make bunnies with fun names and personalities like Bunny Big Ears, Too Tall, Pit Stop Pete, Eggbert, My Little Bunny, Parsnip Pete and Texter…to name a few.

Our individually foiled, bite-size pieces are crafted for each season to fill a niche. Each seasonal holiday has lots of family get-togethers, parties and other festivities. These occasions created an opportunity for “candy dish” candy and we decided that those pretty foiled candies should look like they belong in the candy dish for that season. So we make foiled pumpkins, eyeballs and body parts for fun Halloween parties and trick-or-treating. For Christmas, we make colorfully foiled Santas, Snowmen, bells, balls and coins for the holiday candy dish. Valentine’s Day, of course, is all about hearts and we have every color and flavor imaginable. And, Easter is all about eggs and bunnies again in lots of shapes, sizes, colors and flavors.

Because of safety and sanitation restrictions, we do not offer tours to the public of any of our facilities. Still curious how we make candy fun? Watch our video:

You can enjoy our candy even after the holiday it was purchased for. You should store the candy in a cool, dry place…between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 50% or less humidity. Also be sure to keep it away from things that have a strong odor such as onions, cleaning products, etc. If stored properly, the candy should keep well for about 6 months after the holiday.

Yes – we also make lots of Easter Eggs in different sizes, shapes (whole eggs, half eggs) and flavors such as Peanut Butter filled, Cookies & Creme, and Double Crisp to name a few. And, we also make candy for other big holiday seasons including Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
